Book Project 1

Book 1 Project: The Night Circus
Idea: The idea is to create a circus like Le Cirque des Rêves, like the main important tents that we involved like the Ice Garden, Wishing Tree, Pool of Tears, and The Labyrinth, acrobatics and the tarot cards. Make it for the readers and other people to have the same feeling of the circus like in the book.
Why: The idea came from the very first page when it first said “The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.” That already sparked the idea of something new and exciting to see and visually while reading. As the story progress we see the people reaction to it. “You think, as you walk away from Le Cirque des Rêves and into the creeping dawn, that you felt more awake within the confines of the circus. You are no longer quite certain which side of the fence is the dream.”
Though that be hard to feel if you can’t relate to that feeling so a circus that can be like the one in the book will help bring more appeal to it. This in turn makes it more enjoyable for fans and new ones to enjoy this experience together. I want to give people this feeling of “The finest of pleasures are always the unexpected ones.” The main point of the book was to give this feeling, of something new to the book entertainment and she brought that. The fine details of this circus I’m surprise no one thought of copying this circus down and traveling with it. Already this can bring more attention to not only to book readers but can get others interested in reading to that. “Hey this is from a book what else is there in a book.” This will help kids stay interested in reading and we can sell copies of the book there and the author could come and sign the book.

Now here is a college that help with the setup the circus

  1. We still keep the posters to the book and this poster here shows what the main idea of the book is and will make people interested to come and see what it is.
  2. Now we go on to the tents that are theme to the tents to the book
  3. So the first tent is the Ice Garden: Which we use ice sculptors to make different statues and them can range from ordinary life like walking your dog or make a circus in ice as special attraction and people can give ideas to the sculptors on what to make. Have a contest for the next statue will be in the circus, or make a statue special in that town or capture the specialness of the city we are in.
  4. Next tent be the combination of the Wishing Tree and Pool of Tears: We make a lake or pool size area we put the tree in the middle of the lake. The good thing about this that since the Pool of Tears is sad by putting the Wishing Tree there people can wishes away their sadness and get hope. A good combination and be one of the main tents because in the book Marco made a wish at the wishing tree.
  5. Then we have The Labyrinth: It be a maze that be filled with mirrors and there be two types one for the kids which be easier for them and help make this more kid friendly and a adult one that be more harder and filled with hints if get lost.
  6. Give the people the option to come up with a tent like Celia does in the book to

Post 2: What is a book?

A book is a Midnight Summer Dream, now you wonder why I would say that. Midnight Summer Dream its Chaotic, beautiful, sweet, and bit of comedy and more. You can do anything feel like you matter just a bit, you then wonder why you here. You then know how it feels for a meth addict to be on such a high for a while and never wanting to leave.

Then it’s gone.

Trying to go back but never can, that what’s it like for people who like a physical copy of a book to and worry that iPads and Kindle taking over the world of reading. For me though I can live with reading and getting my Midnight Summer Dream in both forms. Like in Joe Meno quote  “a book is actually a place, a place where we, as readers, still have the chance to engage in active imagining, translating word into image, connecting these images to memories, dreams and larger ideas.” My analogy is inspired from Joe Meno quote because I agree that a book is more than black copy ink on pages and forced to read from school. You are at a place where like I said earlier you may never want to leave and be happy living there.

Sometimes if you’re lucky you can come back to Midnight Sumer Dream.

How you ask in Nancy Jo Sales said “There’s something about the physicality of a book, the way it looks and feels and even smells” Science also proven that our sense of smell is more reliable to our memories than our eyes. A book I want to hold more than my iPad for reading. If I smell or look at the book I Can remember the pieces of what that “Midnight Summer Dream” was. I think the physicality of a book adds more to why we read then the Kindles or IPad. Though I am a strong believer of that the story matters more than its form to but what form it is does add a bit more of a favorite quality.
