Readicide was not an issue I was aware of when on the topic of school books. For school books I take a positive approach and try to enjoy the book as it is. Though this question does come to me when I get a new school book to read. How does the school pick the books we read and write and be tested over on? The after this discussion of the problem of kids not liking reading and how schools try to fix it. Help me understand how the school tried to fix this. I agree whole heartily that schools can try better on getting kids to read. I can see how that school pick books to help give them what the real world is like and all. Though most of those books were written before we were born and it be hard to relate to for most high schools. They are books that is more modern and help us teach us the world the same as school approve books. Though the school and the people who said we should read this and say it’s better. Though with this type of training don’t we kill the joy of reading. I agree that yes we school read the literary fiction, though there should be a balanced. As said in the discussion, this help keep people reading and enjoy both worlds of popular read and the classics. I believe this help with the problem of kids hating to read. I was an example of kids that hated to read when I was younger. I even sleep at reading time, though as I got older and teachers who let me read more books that I enjoy and with the school books. I enjoyed to read again and if this help me read again than this will work.

Post 5: • Adapting your book
The book Divergent was a good book with an interesting and action filled
plot and a strong main female role, which we don’t see often enough. This made
it refreshing read and gave me a new perspective on reading. Some parts of the book were slow and didn’t get
to the main and important part till very much later on in the book. Some parts
I would cut are Tris in school. I
found that though it was nice we get to know who she was in before choosing day.
Took more room and could be shorten or cut out, it was only exciting when she
got near the choosing day. Another part of the book I would cut out is the Edward;
the reason is because he is a minor character and in the end leaves Dauntless.
Some things I would keep in the book is the Choosing Day, it was a vital
point in the book because from that point on where we see Tris grow as a
character. Some things that do have to change are when they cut their hand and
let the blood drop to the faction they chose to live. We could make it less
blooded for people who are sensitive to these types of things. We change it to
a cut to one finger and not across the whole hand like it was written in the
book. Another thing I wouldn’t cut from the book is the entire fight scene. The
reason is bring action in the movie and always this is where we see big
changings in Tris character and in her training to be a Dauntless. We can use stunt
doubles for the fight scene or we train the actors to fight themselves. Lastly
I would keep Four scene and where he explain his tattoos. This show the main
point of the book of you shouldn’t let society judge you for one thing. This
help ties in the movie with the book and give a take away to learn from it.

Book Project 1
Book 1 Project: The Night Circus
Idea: The idea is to create a circus like Le Cirque des Rêves, like the main important tents that we involved like the Ice Garden, Wishing Tree, Pool of Tears, and The Labyrinth, acrobatics and the tarot cards. Make it for the readers and other people to have the same feeling of the circus like in the book.
Why: The idea came from the very first page when it first said “The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.” That already sparked the idea of something new and exciting to see and visually while reading. As the story progress we see the people reaction to it. “You think, as you walk away from Le Cirque des Rêves and into the creeping dawn, that you felt more awake within the confines of the circus. You are no longer quite certain which side of the fence is the dream.”
Though that be hard to feel if you can’t relate to that feeling so a circus that can be like the one in the book will help bring more appeal to it. This in turn makes it more enjoyable for fans and new ones to enjoy this experience together. I want to give people this feeling of “The finest of pleasures are always the unexpected ones.” The main point of the book was to give this feeling, of something new to the book entertainment and she brought that. The fine details of this circus I’m surprise no one thought of copying this circus down and traveling with it. Already this can bring more attention to not only to book readers but can get others interested in reading to that. “Hey this is from a book what else is there in a book.” This will help kids stay interested in reading and we can sell copies of the book there and the author could come and sign the book.
Now here is a college that help with the setup the circus
- We still keep the posters to the book and this poster here shows what the main idea of the book is and will make people interested to come and see what it is.
- Now we go on to the tents that are theme to the tents to the book
- So the first tent is the Ice Garden: Which we use ice sculptors to make different statues and them can range from ordinary life like walking your dog or make a circus in ice as special attraction and people can give ideas to the sculptors on what to make. Have a contest for the next statue will be in the circus, or make a statue special in that town or capture the specialness of the city we are in.
- Next tent be the combination of the Wishing Tree and Pool of Tears: We make a lake or pool size area we put the tree in the middle of the lake. The good thing about this that since the Pool of Tears is sad by putting the Wishing Tree there people can wishes away their sadness and get hope. A good combination and be one of the main tents because in the book Marco made a wish at the wishing tree.
- Then we have The Labyrinth: It be a maze that be filled with mirrors and there be two types one for the kids which be easier for them and help make this more kid friendly and a adult one that be more harder and filled with hints if get lost.
- Give the people the option to come up with a tent like Celia does in the book to

Post 2: What is a book?
A book is a Midnight Summer Dream, now you wonder why
I would say that. Midnight Summer Dream its Chaotic, beautiful, sweet, and bit
of comedy and more. You can do anything feel like you matter just a bit, you
then wonder why you here. You then know how it feels for a meth addict to be on
such a high for a while and never wanting to leave.
Then it’s gone.
Trying to go back but never can, that what’s it
like for people who like a physical copy of a book to and worry that iPads and Kindle
taking over the world of reading. For me though I can live with reading and
getting my Midnight Summer Dream in both forms. Like in Joe Meno quote “a book is actually a place, a place where we,
as readers, still have the chance to engage in active imagining, translating
word into image, connecting these images to memories, dreams and larger ideas.”
My analogy is inspired from Joe Meno quote because I agree that a book is more
than black copy ink on pages and forced to read from school. You are at a place
where like I said earlier you may never want to leave and be happy living
there.
Sometimes if you’re lucky you can come back to
Midnight Sumer Dream.
How
you ask in Nancy Jo Sales said “There’s something about the physicality of a
book, the way it looks and feels and even smells” Science also proven that our
sense of smell is more reliable to our memories than our eyes. A book I want to
hold more than my iPad for reading. If I smell or look at the book I Can
remember the pieces of what that “Midnight Summer Dream” was. I think the
physicality of a book adds more to why we read then the Kindles or IPad. Though
I am a strong believer of that the story matters more than its form to but what
form it is does add a bit more of a favorite quality.

Why do I read? (Post 1)
When I first started to read I did not
like it at all. From 1st- 3rd grade during reading time I
took naps and the teacher never thought of it and let me do that. I was even
out put into special reading groups and I still had no interest in reading. In
the 6th grade did I finally start to read, I found this huge book
but the cover looked nice so I picked it up. Then after reading I found out I can relate to the main chacters and the plot made me forget my life stuggle for a bit. When I read I always wanted to be the main chacrter. They were confident, beuatiful, smart, and brave, me being the totally oppsite of that I can only dream of what they can do in the books. My all time favorite book in the word is Mistress of Rome By Kate Quinn. The main chacater is the number one person who is like me but a bit more. Thea is a slave and goes through the hardship of being abused meantallity, sexually, physical, and emotinoaly. She still fought through it all even throught the cutting and losing her husband, she became a singer and even became the Mistress of the Empoer. In the end of the book there is a happy ending and I love that. Like her I fight thorugh the struggles from home and school and my own mind, she reminds me why I read to get away from all of that. Or better yet she how they slove the problem and see if I can to. Thats my reason why I read to escape from life and into a world where I can be free and happy

Theme and Summary the Story of Chunhyang
The Korean children story of Chunhyang, it's start off with the lovely Chunhyang doing her own thing and then Mongryong saw her and fell for her. He told his servant to go and get her, well Chunhyang wasn't an easy girl. Well after that she gave in and she also fell in love with Mongryong. After that Mongryong learns that he must leave Chunhyang to follow his father to Seoul. He promised to he come back to her in the future. So days passed and Chunhyang still waiting patiently for Mongryong return, though the magistrate of Namwonl(where the main story take place) learned of Chunhyang. He told the servant to go and get her. He fell for her to like Mongryong and tried to get her to spend the night with him. She said no and starts to yell for Mongryong, then as magic the royal inspector came and it was Mongryong. He came back and saved Chunhyang and he asked for her forgiveness and she forgave him and the magistrate. Though the story was short and simple it had a good moral to the story which can still be seen today. "Love is strong when one stays faithful." In the story it shows well of that with Chunhyang waiting for him, while girls at that time would have married another man. Also with the magistrate you can't go againt him because during those times the magistrate were like the mayor and everyone had to listen to him. If he wanted to have a girl he get and and with Chunhyang she shows even though she knew what would happen to her if she disobey the magistrate. She still hanged onto faith that Mongryong will come and save her. This is a sweet love story and you should all read it!

Theme and Summary: The Little Mermaid By Hans Christian Andersen
Now when we were all younger we had a favorite fairy tale, well mine was The Little Mermaid. I only saw and read the disney version of it no trash talking I loved it, but we all know that Disney make it all happy endings because they don't want to scare little kids of sad endings. So out of curiosity I looked up the original story and now I understand why Disney changed the ending.
The story starts with Arial and her wanting to see the world above the seas. Her grandmother she sees it soon since she be turning 15 soon. In the mermaid culture you can see above the seas at that age so, when she went up by chance there was a ship with a handsome prince. She fell for him at love at first sight and then a storm came and the ship broke. Arial saves the prince and she's wait till she saw a temple girl came and care for the prince. The prince never sees her. Then after her meeting she went to her grandmother and asked if humans can live as long as like mermaids. Her grandmother replied that humans have shorter life span than mermaid 300 years. She also said that after they die they go to heaven. Unlike the mermaids turn to sea form and crease to exist. Longing with life with the prince and eternal soul she went to Sea Witch and said she can give her legs to see the prince for the price of her voice, now she can't go back to the sea. She will only obtain a soul if she finds true love's kiss and if the prince loves her and marries her, for that a part of his soul will flow into her. Otherwise, at dawn she will die and turn into sea foam.Arial drinks the potion and meets the prince, who is mesmerised by her beauty and grace even though she is mute. When the prince's father orders his son to marry the neighboring king's daughter, the prince tells Arial he will not because he does not love the princess. He goes on to say he can only love the young woman from the temple, who he believes rescued him. It turns out that the princess is the temple girl, who had been sent to the temple to be educated. The prince loves her, and the wedding is announced. The prince and princess marry, and Arial's heart breaks. She thinks of all that she has given up and of all the pain she has suffered. She despairs, thinking of the death that awaits her, but before dawn, her sisters bring her a knife that the Sea Witch has given them. If Arial slays the prince with the knife and lets his blood drip on her feet, she will become a mermaid again, all her suffering will end, and she will live out her life.
However the Arial couldn't bring herself to kill the sleeping prince lying with his bride, and she throws herself into the sea as dawn breaks. Her body dissolves into foam, but instead of ceasing to exist, she feels the sun; she has turned into a spirit. She earn her own soul by doing good deeds and she will eventually rise up into the kingdom of God.
This version was really sad but something that we all can relate to, "Love can make one blind and lost but can bring one so much more." I say this is the theme because we all been in one sided love, I personal have been. The guys I like don't like me but someone else and I'm left with the pain and wondering like her why love if all i get is pain. She was blind by handsome guy who told her he loved her but changed his mind and left her. This is like now a days with teenage relationships, we girls fall for the first guy who says I love you. Then they leave and we go through this cycle till we find mister right. I felt that Arial found her mister right it was God who gave her eternal soul and now she finally found her place.
